Who is Dave as an attorney?
Dave is our managing partner and practices in the business law practice group at Rupp Pfalzgraf.
As an attorney, Dave is a problem solver and a partner for his clients. He has a tremendous amount of pride in being an attorney and an advocate for his clients when they are in the most need of advocacy. He is honored to be a part of such a noble profession. To Dave, the most meaningful part of being a lawyer is becoming true partners and friends with the individuals he represents.
Why did Dave become an attorney?
Dave was the son of a great trust & estates lawyer in Buffalo, David Pfalzgraf Sr. Dave grew up with a lot of respect and admiration for his father, especially for how he dealt with his clients and other bar members. His father was a very hard worker who gave back not only to his community but to his profession as well. Dave still remembers getting to see his dad become the president of the Erie County Bar Association. This admiration for his father is what led Dave to decide to go to law school after he finished serving in the Navy.
What is Dave’s most memorable case?
Dave has worked with some truly incredible clients over the years and has many memorable deals. One that stands out to him recently was helping with the Towne Automotive deal, as they transitioned some of their dealerships to West Herr. It was an honor for Dave to be in the room as this deal was being made and reminded him of the importance of not only being great attorneys but also great people.
Who is Dave outside of work?
Outside of work, Dave serves on many not-for-profit, and for-profit boards. He enjoys staying active and is passionate about squash. He enjoys the comradery and collegiality of the sport of squash most. Dave is actively involved with many organizations and clubs in Buffalo like Nichols School and The Buffalo Club. He enjoys traveling, especially with his wonderful wife, Amanda. And he has 4 now-grown children whom he enjoys visiting.
What is Dave’s legal tip?
If you are a business owner, find a great attorney early on. Hit the streets and find yourself a great team of advisors. Those advisors can be lawyers, accountants, insurance agents, etc. Having this team in place will really help your company to grow and will allow you to be prepared when you inevitably face challenges.
