Attorney Spotlight: Josh Rubin
Who is Josh as an attorney?
Josh practices insurance defense, architecture & development, construction law, New York State labor law, contract work, and insurance coverage. Josh attended Alleghany College for undergrad where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in political science and minors in English and fiction writing. His senior thesis was on the Scottish Wars of Independence in the 1200s. Josh then attended law school at the University of Baltimore where he graduated in 2002.
Why did Josh become an attorney?
In college, Josh took a lot of political science classes with a professor named Robert Setting. This is when Josh really became interested in the law. A lot of the classes that Professor Setting taught were constitutional law classes. His interest in these classes was his gateway into the legal profession. Josh did not realize at the time that very few people actually practice constitutional law.
What is Josh’s most memorable case?
His most memorable cases are those where the lawyers on both sides act respectfully and collegiately. The cases that stand out the most to him are the ones where there is good lawyering on both sides.
Who is Josh outside of work?
Outside of work, Josh likes to keep things simple. His philosophy is that if you overextend your personal responsibilities you tend not to do anything that well. He spends most of his free time with his family. He does enjoy sports and athletics and spending time with friends. His goal is to make the time he spends outside of work quality time.
