Attorney Spotlight: Kevin Kruppa
Who is Kevin as a lawyer?
Kevin is a partner in our insurance defense practice group. Kevin defends insurers in everything from car accident cases to catastrophic injury cases. He works on construction accidents, wrongful death, products liability, and premises liability cases.
Why did Kevin become an attorney?
Kevin decided to become a lawyer because in college he was always interested in taking a deep dive into researching issues to find out what they are all about and then writing about that issue. After college Kevin worked as a runner for a law firm for a year then decided to go to law school. Kevin initially wanted to practice criminal law but after law school, Kevin received a job doing civil litigation defending a railroad. He then decided to continue in civil litigation. Kevin eventually came to Rupp Baase and has been here for about 15 years.
Who is Kevin outside of work?
When Kevin is not working he lives a pretty quiet life. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, walking his dog, having a beer, playing guitar, and riding his bike. According to Kevin, when he is not at work he tries not to be at work. Kevin is also actively involved in advocacy to raise awareness about colorectal cancer. Kevin is a survivor of colorectal cancer and the vice president of Buffalo Colon Corps. This group helps to raise awareness about the prevalence of colorectal cancer here in Western New York, especially the increasing rates of young adults being diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
