Ricky Luthra is a partner in our Business Law practice group. He has been practicing law for 10 years.
Why did Ricky choose to work at Rupp Pfalzgraf?
Ricky chose to work at Rupp Pfalzgraf because of the people and the great collegial atmosphere that we have. Within his practice group, he’s able to work with attorneys and all other groups on transactions. There are different components of law that will come into deals like real estate, environmental, labor & employment, and he’s found that the people here are not only experts at what they do but also really good people to work with.
Within his practice, what type of work does he find the most rewarding?
What Ricky finds the most rewarding is being a trusted advisor to our clients. As a business attorney, he’s typically the first call for our clients when they have a legal issue or a different issue that they want his counsel on. It’s an honor and a privilege to provide that service to clients, and it’s not something he takes lightly.
What is a fun fact about Ricky that people would be surprised to learn?
A fun fact about Ricky is that when he was a junior in college, he did a study abroad program in London, England. That spring, he was able to travel all around Europe, and his favorite place to visit was Prague in the Czech Republic.
What is Ricky’s best legal tip?
His best legal tip is pretty applicable to the type of work he does. He works on a lot of shareholder agreements and operating agreements for businesses. So, he always recommends to his clients that they look at those agreements at least every five years just to review the provisions and determine if they’re still relevant or if there are changes that need to be made. Those agreements govern the operations of your business, so it’s important to understand what they provide for and then make any changes that are applicable or necessary.
