Rupp Pfalzgraf LLC seeks a talented Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team.

Our areas of expertise include commercial litigation, corporate, land use and environmental law for non-profits, business, municipalities, and landowners. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Albany, NY office and provide comprehensive support to our practice groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage, through discovery and trial, to the post-trial appeal process.
• Draft legal documents including, but not limited to, pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and pretrial agreements.
• Manage case preparation and file management, ensuring information is entered accurately into case management software.
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to the case from a variety of resources such as newspapers, libraries, police and fire departments, and the internet.
• Organize and maintain documents and evidence, often using case management systems.
• Analyze and organize information to produce reports and documents for attorney review and case preparation.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and other court-related activities.
• Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders.
• Interface with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel as needed.
• Assist with the drafting of contracts, memos, and environmental compliance documentation for the corporate practice group.
• Stay informed about current legislation, especially concerning corporate and environmental laws that affect the firm’s practice areas.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Paralegal certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation environment.
• Knowledge of New York State laws and court procedures is essential.
• Familiarity with the litigation process and document management systems.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Salary Range:

$28.21 – $33.33 per hour based on skillset and experience.
