One reason I love speaking about litigation techniques is because it requires many of the same skills as being a great trial attorney—you have to know your subject matter, know your audience, and be able to explain the former to the latter efficiently and effectively. I’ve been an invited lecturer at legal conventions around the world and at more than 40 state bar associations and trial lawyers organizations in the United States. Of course, it all stems from my work as a litigator, from winning the first million-dollar result in Chautauqua County history, to serving in the lead counsel organization of approximately 50 percent of all the “price fixing” class actions filed in the entire United States.
