I spent the first four years of my legal career as a public defender and was lucky to learn from committed, passionate coworkers who taught me what it means to be a good lawyer.   I gained extensive jury trial experience, defending against charges ranging from minor misdemeanor offenses to felony sex assaults and crimes of violence—but more importantly, I learned how to earn my clients’ trust by being a good listener and zealous advocate.  I continue to work hard to help clients feel heard, advocating for citizens whose civil rights have been violated and helping employers navigate complex state and federal employment laws.
